Sunday Funday!

Yesterday, I decided to have a bit of dollyfun.
First I finished making a little nightie for Patience.

Then I decided it was finally time to glue back on her original wig, as the new basic Patience, who is a wigged doll, will be coming to live here soon.
Also Penn had been waiting for months to get eyelashes, so time to get out the glue...

I decided Patience would be my first victim, as the lashes need a bit more precision.

So she got a thin layer of tacky glue on her head, and I would have to wait a few minutes, before applying the wig.
Just enough time to cut the lashes to size:

Time to put that wig back on:

Next up was Penn:

Of course these 2 wanted some nice photo sessions.
In fact Patience (or Ginger as she's called her in my home) already had another photosession on saturday, as I found out my pics from Tonnercon weren't all that focussed, and I really wanted to have a picture of her in the outfit she was wearing for Halo's and Horns.Tokyo (or Aiko) of course had to model too.

As you can see, those girls just love to show off.

When Ginger started to model her Christmas/Valentines outfit, Prom aka Audrey, jumped at the chance to also be in the photoshoot:

Last but not least, Penn had a bit of a photoshoot as well:

I thought it was a great day, and then, when I finally got to checking my email, I found out I had won a prize at a photocompetition in a Yahoo group for Ellowyne!
I am so excited about it. It was the picture I intended to take for a competition back in November, but due to my travelling adventures, I didn't get to taking that picture in time.
This time however the theme of the picture was completely free, and I still had this idea, so I decided to give it a go.
I feel so honored Robert Tonner himself picked the winners of the anonymous photo entries!
Here's the winning piccie:

I think I will need to learn the futterwacken.... And yes, that's the little Pippa I customised last year into a Mad Hatter!

A Exciting Tonner & Wilde Imagination day!

Yesterday was quite an exciting day at my home.
In April Wilde Imagination anounced the 6th Annual Poetry Contest. I'm a relative newbie to Wilde Imagination & Tonner, as I bought my first Ellowyne doll in May 2013, so I didn't even know they had poetry contests, until I got an email from them.
http://www.wildeimagination.com/ennui-poetry-contest
Although english isn't my mothertongue, I decided to take up the challenge, and have a go at it.
And I managed to send in my poem the last day of the contest, nothing better than a deadline when it comes to getting productive!
This was my entry:

Every day I try to escape my ennui,
Pru keeps telling me life can be lots of fun for me,
Lizette is like her beautiful exotic birds,
While Rufus joins a club of nerds,
But one look from Amber is all I need,
To make me sigh and let my heart bleed.

A few weeks later Tonner Dolls organised a Story Contest.
http://www.tonnerdoll.com/half-pint-story-contest
Each and every entry will receive the Tonner 20th Anniversary DVD, so again I decided it would be worth a try. This time I got inspired a couple of days before the deadline and wrote a story which was based on some of my mums childhood adventures.
I sent my entry the 2nd of  May, and much to my surprise, yesterday I already received my copy of the DVD, so this was really so fast!

The DVD is well worth watching, very interesting and inspiring!

I decided to go to bed early, as I fell on my tail bone a couple of weeks ago. So lying in bed I spent some time on facebook, and when I felt it was time to really go to sleep, my husband came upstairs, and told me there was an email that I had won a 3rd prize in the poetry contest!!!!!!
Well, of course I had to go downstairs and check my email:

Hi sweet lady!
Congrats!!  You are one of our 3rd Place WINNERS in the Ellowyne Poetry Contest...
So many amazing entries, trust me, picking the winning poems wasn't easy...with placing in the TOP 3 you will receive the lovely little Ennui Poetry Book, I'll be sending it to your address you provided below...I'll also be sure to send an email receipt to you too so you know it's been ordered, going to try to get these in and done this week! (As we are off to convention next week)
Thanks again, such fun to read and savor and we had many people "weigh in" on them, ultimately Robert made those final decisions, so sweet!
THANKS so much!

Enjoy!
Michelle
As you may be able to imagine I had a hard time going to sleep after that! It was so much excitement, a real adrenalin rush pumping through my body!
A huge thank you to Tonner & Wilde Imagination for organising these fun contests!

Christmas Swaps

As I wrote earlier, I was up to my ears in Christmas swaps, this season.
I took part in an Ellowyne outfit swap.
I got the beautiful Florid & Fussy outfit from my swap partner, and I made her the red Santa outfit, a little golden dress & for a bit of fun I added the wine bottle dress.

Then there was the Dawn/Pippa Secret Santa parcel, where I send the following parcel to Yvonne:

There was also a 'Cabaret' toxic-froggy outfit included, but I forgot to take a piccie of it...
In return I got this amazing parcel from Phyllis:

I also took part in the Pippa custom doll swap & the Pippa custom outfit swap.
From Erin I got the beautiful Mary S. custom redhead doll, and from Janet that super cute red & white crochet Pippa outfit. Claire got the white haired Marie, which I rerooted , dressed in a gown that I bought from Chris. I also bought an outfit from Elaine, which she sent directly to Erin, so I don't have a piccie of it.

Last, but not least was the Daisy custom outfit swap.
I decided to try to downsize the Ellowyne Santa dress pattern to make to fit Daisy, and I received the wonderful iceblue outfit and accesories from Helene.

All in all I had a lovely time creating things for these swaps, but I think for this year, I should better start early, to have everything ready when the sign up for the swaps opens....

Amber the Prom Queen

A few weeks back another girl arrived, and I think she's one of my most favourite girls; Amber, the Zombie Prom Queen.
Opening the box:

The tiara looks quite fragile, but by handling it gently I managed to bend it back into shape:

Here's a close up picture of her gorgeous shoes:
Isn't she just amazing:
When I had another photosession with her, she told me that Ellowyne had knocked her down with Freddy's baseballbat!

Even the back of her dress is stunning:
And of course another portrait:
Amber the Zombie Prom Queen, nothing Zombie about her, if you ask me....

Meanwhile, my Dark & Stormy night Amber (or Ginger from now on), had convinced Ashley (Disquietude) to switch clothes, as this really sets of their eyecolour so much better!

A Website for Ellowyne

Of course it had to come; a website where I can showcase my Ellowyne's and keep track of their names. And also a place where I have everything nicely organised, so it will be easy to find back what I am looking for.
Although I know some basics when it comes to building a website, it's much easier to make a website using a template. So, I went to freewebs, choose a template and got started.

Amber and her shoes

When I had just started collecting Ellowyne, I kind of went wilde when looking for shoes for her.
There are so many gorgeous shoes on evilbay, and really not that expensive, especially if you order 3 pairs from China or HongKong, you may get a very good discount on shipping, which really makes it so easy to buy just another pair.....
Of course, back then I only had 3 or 4 dolls, and already something like 9 pairs of shoes.
So I started thinking and wondering if there would be shoe-racks available, so I could display all the lovely shoesies. I coulnd't find any online, but, I have a lovely Pippa friend, who is amazing at making doll shoes for Pippa and Dawn dolls, and she also made shoe-racks for them. That's where I decided I could just as well contact her, and ask if she would feel up to the challenge.
Fortunately for Ellowyne and me, she did want to give it a go, and asked me what kind of style I would like.
I told her something baroque would be fun, if she would be able to do something like that.
I measured all my shoes and gave her the sizes, and she started to think and work on it.
Here is the final result:

Isn't it just gorgeous!!!!!

Here is the link to her website: http://www.pippashoes.com/

Just around the time when I got this lovely shoe-rack, I also received one of my dreamdolls; Amber Dark & Stormy Night. She wasn't wearing her original outfit, but another Wilde Imagination outfit for Ellowyne, called Easy Does It.
Unfortunately the zipper of one of her boots is broken, so I emailed to the company, and hope they will have a replacement boot for me. My poor Essential Ellowyne 4 brunette broke the strap of her sandal, boohoo!
broken boot and sandals from Essential Ellowyne 4
Well, Amber decided she would not like to wait until new shoes might arrive from the USA, so she went on a shoehunt.

trying to decide on a replacement.........

I so love this girl! I haven't been able to find her original outfit yet, but I ordered a pattern which has a similar feel to it : Onyx El. I so hope it will arrive soon. I can't wait to get started!
