It's the first time I heard the word 'adorkable', which is exactly how he described her.
Her description at the Tonner website says the following:
From the artistic to the technological, from fashion to fiction to science, Agatha Primrose loves the experiences that her life brings. Whether obsessing over Dr. Who’s TARDIS, Hermione’s Time Turner or Doc’s DeLorean, figuring out the recipe for Katniss’ District Four bread, and of course, trying to find a believable female character for her gaming fixation, Agatha is on a fact-finding mission and it’s all for her personal knowledge. You’ll find her wearing the perfect handmade costume at Comic-Con, testing the latest gadgets at the tech store and nose deep in books with places to which she hopes to travel.
Add to that the fact that she's wearing Harry Potter like glasses, and you may imagine my fascination for her!
From the moment she made her first appearance (at the West Coast Event the 16th of january this year), I have been longing to lay my hands on her.
Finally I found her at a french website, for a price which wasn't much different from what you would pay at the Tonnerwebsite, but shipping was only just over 10 euro, if I remember right, and best of all, no customs taxes for me to pay! So, I gave up my struggle of holding back, and decided to just go for it.
I had been thinking about buying the basic chestnut, at Miss Vinyl, but when I was ready for it, she was already sold out there.
I always seem to fall for dark haired dolls, so she needed to be a darkhaired girl.
I ordered her over the weekend at un bonheur de colibri, and could follow her journey from Narbonne to somewhere close to Paris, to Utrecht, and I knew she would most probably arrive the next day, all in all she arrived either on wednesday or thursday, so it wasn't such a long wait as it usually is, when ordering my dollies straight from the USA.
I can really recommend this dollshop for all doll lovers in Europe, the seller is very helpful too.
opening time, such a cute box! |
and what a sweet surprise! |
just in time for easter |
Yes, that's right, I couldn't resist the very first doll, a touch of anime LE150 |
I wasn't completely happy with my first try, so I won't be posting pictures of that one.
The next one I just finished last night, and although it isn't perfect, I'm happy enough with it, to show it to you:
She's able to stand withouth her stand, which is great, as I'm not a big fan of dollstands |
I love her poseability |
and just look at that pretty face!Truely adorkable! |
of course the geeky girl had to read a book, I was happy to find a chair that fits her |
and dreaming about places to go?
oh, it's the Taj Mahal! |
well done, Aggie! |
